Life is not all about money. It is also about preserving the eco-system that we live in and have been given by God to preserve for many years to come. We do not want to leave this planet in a state in which our children and our children’s children cannot live. Magaliesburg is one of the last areas which is still pristine, has clean air to breathe and a wonderful part of the country to live in.

What do we want a Cradle of Mankind for if the mining companies want to destroy the same Cradle of Mankind.

Magaliesburg is one of the fairy lands which we often visit as a family or with overseas visitors because it has it very calming and relaxing effect, feels as if you travelled far away but yet so close to the busy rat race.
Definately a must see when we entertain our overseas visitors as they insist in seeing on their visit to S.Africa.

When you live in a buzy city and life….. The one thing you can count on is an escape to magaliesburg with the kids. Its been our place of refuge from the city and its close enough to go often…. If that gets taken away what will happen the the family trips and gatherings. Life is about enjoying life with loved ones and close to nature… The media is always enforcing us to look after our earth…..how can we if big mining copanies themselves don’t!!! They should set a example

A marketing research study done for the Cradle of Human kind revealed that around 200,000 people visit the Cradle of Human kind every weekend from Magaliesburg, Hekpoort, Crocodile Valley all the way to Hartebeespoort.
This is by far the MOST visited area by tourists (national and international) in the entire GAUTENG!!! It is also a world heritage site.
Why would the government destroy this valuable resource that already creates a lot of jobs in this rural area, without much government funding (i.e. tax payers’ money)?

What sick puppies these people are. Some of my research has already revealed that there is possibly some involvement from ex Coal, Gold and open Cast Mining Houses, this does not just appear to be some small scale company trying to invade the Magaliesburg. What’s even more worrying is the consultants past experience working inside the DMR where had ample access to any and all information regarding mineral resources in the Magaliesburg. This whole situation leaves little doubt in my mind that there is direct government involvement in these applications. But you know what THE TRUTH WILL OUT !!!

I remember what Rustenburg looked like 15 years ago and what it looks like Now,The Pietersburg -Steelpoort Basin is very much the same and let’s not think about the open cast mining along side the N12/N4 from Ogies passed Witbank to Belfast across to Ermelo. The Mining Corporations can not be allowed to Rip open the/our Magaliesburg and destroy our environment and the wildlife which we have a lot of,From the solitary barn owls which glides overhead at night to the Steenbok and Duiker, which are in the grass lands hiding from the Jackel as they roam the night ,As a Landowner and Resident of Sluis which boarders Koesterfontein I Strongly object to the proposed mining in the area. We don’t want you here.

Was looking to purchase a business in Magaliesburg until I found the reason that everyone is selling. A total killer for the Tourism Industry in our area. We cannot have open case mining in area’s of such beauty, this is simply driven by greed and has to be stopped.
